After reading multiple blogs from various pastors and leaders I respect greatly I decided to commit to read my bible in a year following the ESV Bible study plan. Sadly as I write this on the last day of 2009 I did not finish, honestly I did not come even close.I made it till late July and found myself about a month behind when I decided to give up and instead journaled through the gospel of John, 1 John, Romans and part of Luke while continuing to read proverbs everyday. I am not a fan of quitting so I am somewhat embarrassed to admit I did not succeed but am excited to start over with a new bible in a year plan. In the past I found myself falling behind and not keeping a set time everyday the way I know I should have. I am excited that this plan only schedules 25 days of reading so you have essential 5-6 days (except February) to catch up or dig deeper into a text that you found intriguing. Another reason I struggled last year was because I went at it alone. I am excited to already know that Katie is with me on the plan this year and will be laying there in bed next to me reading the same text. I am also inviting any of you readers that are interested to join in this journey this year. I will attempt (key word being attempt to blog weekly on this bible in a year). I will also take any questions you have as best I can. I am excited to already know I have OVER A DOZEN CCFers are excited to make this a goal for 2010. Doing this in community is a great thing as we will have the chance to have in common and conversation what we are reading, encourage each other, and keep each other accountable. So if you are interested please leave a comment or email me your email to get a copy of the plan. I am praying for each of you that join in on this opportunity to dig into the scriptures and meet God as the word comes alive daily in 2010.
